THE STUBBINGTON MEDICAL PRACTICE
NOTICE BOARD

Dr Sharon Vasey -  left the practice at the end of May.  We wish Sharon and her family well in their new life in Australia.

Dr Sarah Coombs - will be joining on 1 July to replace Dr Vasey.  Dr Coombs will be working Monday morning, all day Tuesday, Wednesday morning and all day Friday.
Dr Tracy Murray
- has re-joined the practice as a salaried partner.  Dr Murray works Monday morning, all day Wednesday and Friday morning.  Patients on Dr Vasey's list were looked after by Dr Murray in June and will be transferred to Dr Coombs in July.  Dr Murray will have her own list and any patients wishing to join Dr Murray's list, may request to do so.
Patient Participation Group - This is going very well and we are indebted to the volunteers who have given up their time to join the group.  We are still keen to welcome patients in the 18 - 36 years age bracket, and if you are interested, please e-mail the Practice Manager, Sue Bailey, on sue.bailey7@nhs.net
APPOINTMENTS

  • Text Messages - If we have your mobile phone number, and you have not opted out, you will now be sent a text reminder the day before your appointment at the surgery.  If you no longer require the appointment, please telephone reception on 01329 664231 and cancel it.  This system should reduce the number of missed appointments which are currently around 35 each week.
  • Extended Hours - We have appointments outside the normal working day ie Alternate Monday evenings from 6.30pm - 7.30pm; Friday mornings from 7.40am - 8am and one Saturday a month from 8.30am - 11.30am.

Book Appointments Online - If you have not yet done so, register at reception to book your appointments online.  Emis Access will show you 4 available appointments for each Doctor and you can book the one that suits you.  Appointments for the Nurse and HP Sisters still have to be made with reception.

Exercise Referral Scheme - If you meet the selection criteria, take little or no exercise but are prepared to change, you can be referred to Fareham Leisure Centre.  You will undergo an assessment with a personal trainer and be recommended a course of suitable exercise at a reduced fee.  Ask the Nurse or Doctor if you qualify during your next appointment.
Waste Medicine - Each year in England over 500 tonnes of unwanted medicine is destroyed.  To help us to reduce waste, please only order what you need and ask for unwanted medicines to be removed from your repeat prescription slip.
Automated Arrivals System - Checking in for your appointment is now done on a touch screen in reception, which will direct you to the correct waiting room.
