Making Evening and Weekend Appointments – Giving You More Choice

GP practices in this area are making it easier for you to make appointments at times which suit you.

  • From October 2017 we will be part of a new scheme that allows you to make appointments from 8am to 8pm on week days, from 8am to 4.30pm on Saturdays, and on Sunday mornings.
  • If you do need to see someone, we can offer you an appointment at your local ‘hub’ location: Fareham Community Hospital or Gosport War Memorial Hospital (or alternatively at Petersfield Community Hospital, Waterlooville Health Centre or Havant Health Centre).
  • You will be seen by a locally-based healthcare professional – the service is led by GPs but also includes other staff such as nurses, or healthcare assistants.
  • Please note: the new extended opening hours is not a walk-in service – you need to make an appointment.
  • You can make an appointment by talking to our surgery staff and booking a slot in the normal way.  If we are closed and you think you need to see someone more urgently, you can call NHS 111 to ask to make an appointment.
  • By March 2019 everyone in England will benefit from access to general practice appointments in the evenings and weekends at a time that is most convenient to them. This is part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and get the best possible outcomes for patients. Further information is available at

For more information, talk to our staff, or click here for our Question and Answer section.

eConsult is now live and can be accessed via the link shown.

What is eConsult? eConsult is an online facility that allows you to receive routine treatment and/or feedback from your GP without the need to visit the surgery, from the convenience of your computer. The service can be accessed at any time and we will get back to you by the end of the following working day. Find your health condition and fill out a simple online questionnaire.

Please remember that this new service is NOT suitable for urgent medical problems that cannot wait until the next working day to receive feedback.

Information from the Care Quality Commission

Our practice is inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to ensure we are meeting essential standards of quality and safety.

This widget provides a summary of the results of the latest checks carried out by the CQC.

Welcome To Stubbington Medical Practice

We hope that you will find this website helpful in planning the services you may require from us. On registering with our practice you will be invited to attend for a new patient health check so that we may have some background information on you pending the arrival of your medical record (which may take a few weeks).

Flu Vaccinations

The flu vaccine is free if you are aged 65 or over, or if you have one of the following conditions:
COPD, asthma (on current medication), heart disease, renal disease, liver disease, stroke, diabetes, immunosuppression, asplenia or you are pregnant.
The flu vaccine is also free if you are a Carer or key Healthcare Worker.

Contact the surgery for a flu vaccination appointment (including some Saturdays).  If no suitable appointment is available, feel free to call in next time you are in the village - our nurses will do their best to accommodate you!

Speak to Reception to book an appointment.

Allocated GPs

All patients have a named/allocated GP.  This is your usual doctor.
If you need to find out who this is, please ask at Reception.

There are two parking spaces for disabled drivers at the surgery: one at the front and one at the rear of the building. Other drivers should use one of the three local car parks.
Please do not leave vehicles parked outside the surgery! Access to the residence in Park Lane is required at all times and ambulances must be able to get to the rear of the building.

Breast Feeding

Mothers who wish to breastfeed their babies while visiting the surgery may do so in privacy. Please ask at reception and a room will be made available.

Unfortunately the introduction of Stubbington Medical Practice into the hub model has produced some unexpected and unforeseeable technical issues. Those issues may take a while to resolve and so from 8am on Wednesday 17 January 2018 Stubbington Medical Practice will withdraw from the pilot scheme and revert to its former practice of managing same day acute services at the practice premises.
